
The First Annual Mystic Dunes Amateur Team Masters Tournament, benefiting The First Tee, was held March 1st and 2nd, 2003. The event consisted of two-player amateur teams competing in a no-handicap first day "Best Ball of Two" and a second day "Total Team Score" format. The inaugural event's winning team consisted of Rick Barger of Merritt Island, Florida, and Rick Luzar of Rockledge, Florida. Together they shot a "Best Ball" score of 68 on Saturday and then scored a 75 and 74 individually on Sunday for an overall score of 217 for the event.
The winning duo received the Grand Prize consisting of two four-day passes, including hotel accommodations, to the biggest golf event in the world, the 2003 Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, Georgia, April 10-13, 2003. Prizes were awarded to all participating teams in the tournament. Everyone walked away a winner!
